What has changed?
Who is affected?
Clients with employees who have cases currently processing before Costa Rican immigration authorities.
What to expect
Delays in service are to be expected. Appointments scheduled at immigration offices, the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería de Costa Rica (DGME) for this week, will be rescheduled accordingly by the immigration authorities via e-mail. As soon as we receive confirmation related to the new appointments assigned, we will notify clients accordingly.
Additionally, beginning next Monday, September 10, 2018, an indefinite strike of the public sector is expected. This strike will likely impact the services provided by the DGME. An update will be provided once the probable duration of the strike can be determined.
What you need to do
- Employers should inform employees of delays to immigration services and appointments.
- Contact your Emigra Worldwide representative for further details on how these updates may impact you or your client.
