What has changed
Effective immediately, the Singapore government has launched CorpPass, an authentication and authorization service that allows users to carry out corporate transactions on behalf of their organization with the various Singaporean government agency sites.
Until further notice, SingPass can still be used for logging into Singapore government body websites for corporate transactions (such as submission of work pass applications via Employment Pass online). However, a CorpPass account will be required for these transactions in the future, as SingPass will likely be phased out by the end of 2017.
Who is affected?
- All clients with a registered company in Singapore
What to expect
Companies in Singapore should register for their CorpPass accounts to ensure users are able to transact with government bodies online once SingPass is phased out for corporate transactions. SingPass will continue to be used for matters such as personal taxation transactions through Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).
